Results begin after surgery: modern rehabilitation strategies in rhinoplasty

Background: Over the past fifteen years, rhinoplasty has consistently ranked among the most sought-after aesthetic surgeries worldwide, driven by high levels of patient satisfaction with the final results. However, a paradox regarding the perception of the outcome exists: the critical period determining the patient’s psycho-emotional state is not the long-term result, but rather the early recovery phase. It is during this time that transient swelling, ecchymosis, and temporary contour irregularities can lead to a distorted perception of the outcome, turning postoperative management into a «black box» that requires specific therapeutic attention.
Objective: to systematization of approaches to postoperative rhinoplasty rehabilitation and substantiation of the inclusion of «First Living Collagen» (a collagen hydrolysate) in rehabilitation protocols as a means of systemically supporting reparative processes.
Results: The analysis demonstrates that the optimal rehabilitation strategy following rhinoplasty is a multimodal program combining rational pharmacotherapy, targeted physiotherapy, and active patient engagement. It is crucial to emphasize that subjective satisfaction with the result is inextricably linked to the patient’s understanding that swelling and hematomas are temporary—an understanding that in itself holds significant therapeutic potential. Nutraceutical support plays a vital role in this context. When administered orally,
«First Living Collagen» supplies the body with the amino acid substrates necessary for synthesizing its own collagen fibers. Furthermore, this collagen serves as a source of low-molecular-weight collagen peptides that possess biological activity and can stimulate the body’s own collagen synthesis processes. Its inclusion in the rehabilitation program helps improve the skin’s morphofunctional state, supports tissue remodeling in the treatment area, and potentiates the anti-inflammatory effects of the primary therapy.
Conclusions: Unlike local physical therapy procedures, the systemic action of collagen peptides targets the restoration of connective tissue structure from within; this makes «FIRST LIVING COLLAGEN» a valuable component of comprehensive postoperative rehabilitation aimed at achieving a long-lasting, stable aesthetic outcome.
