Background: This study was aimed to the evaluation of the diagnostic value of laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) and analysis of the dynamics of skin microcirculation in patients with rosacea who received various types of physiotherapy treatments: phototherapy, mesoozone therapy, and phototherapy using local ozone therapy in the form of topical ozonide-containing agents.
Objective: Evaluation of the diagnostic value of LDF in identifying skin microcirculation disorders in patients with rosacea and determination of the potential for its use in dynamically assessing the effectiveness of various therapeutic methods: phototherapy, mesoozone therapy, and a combination of phototherapy and local ozonide therapy.
Materials and methods: The study included 61 patients with the erythematotelangiectatic subtype of rosacea. Patients were divided into 3 groups: phototherapy, phototherapy combined with ozonide therapy, and mesoozone therapy. Microcirculation parameters were assessed using LDF during treatment.
Results: Variability in baseline microcirculation parameters was established. Improvements were noted in all groups. The most pronounced restoration of the endothelial component was observed with combination therapy (p<0.05). Phototherapy primarily affected the neurogenic component, while mesoozone therapy affected the bypass index.
Conclusion: LDF is an effective method for objectively assessing microcirculation and monitoring therapy for rosacea. Combined treatment methods demonstrate the greatest efficacy.
