This study is aimed to discussion of the feasibility of safely performing laser cosmetic procedures in patients with acne who are currently taking or have recently completed treatment with systemic isotretinoin (SI). This article analyzes literature data on practical experience with laser hair removal and laser correction of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Special attention is given to a review of scientific research and experience with the use of the alexandrite laser, which generates 755-nm light, in dermatology and cosmetology. The current literature available for review does not contain convincing data supporting restrictions on laser procedures for at least 6 months after discontinuing oral isotretinoin therapy for acne. Furthermore, publications devoted to the combination of this drug and 755 nm laser radiation are extremely limited, confirming the relevance of further research in this area.
