Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) has increasingly attracted the attention of practitioners of various specialties in recent years due to the presence of various disease phenotypes, including extraesophageal manifestations. We present 2 clinical cases of patients with GERD. A distinctive feature of the first phenotype was the absence of classical manifestations of GERD, and the predominance of the patient’s only extraesophageal manifestation in the form of recurrent pharyngitis. The second clinical case is presented in patients with combined esophageal and extraesophageal manifestations of GERD with erosive esophagitis and reflux-induced laryngitis. The therapy of patients consisted of a modification of nutrition and lifestyle, and drug therapy consisted in the first case of a combination of the prokinetic Itopride and the esophagoprotector Alfazox Tabs, and in the second case of a combination of PPIs esomeprazole with the esophagoprotector Alfazox Tabs. In both cases, it was possible to achieve clinical and endoscopic remission with a significant decrease in the total number of symptoms in patients tested using the RSI scores questionnaire.
