Current approaches to the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus
The features of the development and course of diabetes mellitus type 2 (type 2 diabetes) in men are discussed. It is emphasized that in men type 2 diabetes mellitus is often a component of the metabolic syndrome and combined with hypogonadism. Therefore, these disorders along with traditional methods of treatment of type 2 diabetes (diet, physical activity, metformin) requires the simultaneous correction of hypogonadism, which allows better control of diabetes. It is also emphasized that in the presence of insulin dependent diabetes mellitus the best way to achieving optimum compensation is the use of dosing device of insulin - insulin pumps.
