Therapeutic Measures Aimed At The Prevention Of Postinfarction Heart Remodelling

M.G. Glezer

Therapeutic measures aimed at the prevention of postinfarction heart remodelling
Neurohumoral activation determines the postinfarction heart remodeling, which leads to heart failure, rhythm disturbance and early death of patients. The paper is dedicated to possibility of pharmacological control of postinfarction remodeling processes, aimed mainly at the blockade of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone and sympathetic nervous systems. For this purpose, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin receptor antagonists, aldosterone antagonists, and ?-blockers, particularly carvedilol administration is feasible.
