Laser therapy of spontaneous mixed impregnation (clinical cases)

Spontaneous mixed impregnations (syn.: traumatic tattoo) are a consequence of the introduction of foreign particles (asphalt, soot, gunpowder, coal, etc.) into the skin as a result of trauma of various natures. The penetration of gunpowder, coal, soot, paint, asphalt dust, soil, etc. into the skin is recorded. Such traumatic skin staining is permanent, which leads to severe psychological discomfort for patients and a significant decrease in the quality of life. Previously used methods of impregnation therapy involved the destruction of the superficial layers of the skin by mechanical (dermabrasion) and chemical means, which often led to the formation of scars, especially with deeper occurrence of foreign particles. With the development of modern laser technologies, pigment removal has become much more effective and safer.
The article provides a clinical example of laser therapy for spontaneous impregnation, analyzes its clinical effectiveness, including on the basis of the results of histological examination.
