Clinico-pharmacological aspects of ambroxol use in the treatment of respiratory tract diseases
Mucolytic drugs administration for respiratory system diseases can greatly restore the protective mechanisms of the respiratory tract. One of the most frequently used mucoregulator drugs is Ambroxol (Ambrobene). Ambrobene is the agent of choice in the treatment of respiratory diseases in consequence of a number of unique properties (significant mucolytic effect, stimulation of surfactant synthesis, potentiation of antibiotics activity, absence of bronchospasm provocation, suppression of the cough reflex, and possibility of administration in premature infants and newborns).
