Acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) is the most common disease in the world. Given the diversity of pathogens and difficulties in early deciphering the etiology, special attention is paid to agents that suppress viral replication with non-specific activity. Inosine pranobex belongs to the group of metabolites of natural purines and is a complex that includes inosine and N,N-dimethylamino-2-propanolol. Inosine not only provides a direct antiviral effect of the drug, preventing the use of RNA for viral reproduction, but also induces mechanisms of antiviral immunity. The use of inosine pranobex in ARVI is safe and leads to a reduction in the duration of the disease, a decrease in the severity of symptoms and the frequency of relapses in frequently and chronically ill individuals.
