Diagnostic of syndrome of hyperandrogenia in real practice (retrospective analysis)
We discuss the problems in the diagnosis of hyperandrogenism (HA) syndrome in women. Retrospectively we assessed the extent of examinations of 100 fertile age patients (19 to 40 years) with menstrual disorders and suspected GA. Evaluation of clinical manifestations of HA in women was not carried out, levels of hormones in the blood serum were randomly tested. It is the author's opinion that careful history taking and assessment of clinical manifestations provides most important diagnostic information, whereas laboratory studies should only confirm the presence of GA.
