Updating anti-doping education to countering the use of stimulants
The article provides a review of the literature on the topic of anti-doping education for medical students to counter the use of stimulants in sports. The pharmacological classification of central nervous system stimulants registered in the Russian Federation is considered in comparison with the RUSADA classification. The list of prohibited substances is analyzed on the basis of regulatory documentation, mechanisms of action and side effects of stimulants of different classes, and their effect on the athlete’s body.
